Cyprus 35th International State Fair opens its gates on May 7-16, featuring innovations such as the honoured country concept, a youth festival which includes a concert by Michalis Hatzigiannis on the 13th of May, as well as the 1st Beer Festival (12th-16th May).
The state fair will be officially inaugurated by President of the Republic of Cyprus Demetris Christofias on May 7, at the presence of state officials, diplomats, members of the Parliament as well as representatives of the productive classes.
President of the Cyprus State Fairs Authority Loizos Constantinou told a press conference that the Fair which will exhibit all sectors of business activities, ranging from home appliances, machinery and tools to technology and services, attracted increased participation despite the global financial crisis.
He added that so far the number of exhibitors reaches 150, compared with the previous year 's 109, which will be showcasing the products and services of more than 1,000 companies from Cyprus and 22 foreign countries. The official state participations are those of Greece, Bulgaria, USA, Spain, Italy, Malaysia, Palestine, Romania, Syria, while South Africa will have its own pavilion.
