The Famagusta Nautical Club are holding a “paddle for life” Dragon Boat Challenge, a charity event to raise awareness and funds for the anti-leukemia association “ΖΩΗ”.
The anti-leukemia association, based in Nicosia provides voluntary medical equipment to the general hospitals around Nicosia, in addition to those of Limassol and Paphos. Volunteers actively raise money to financially support leukemia patients in Cyprus who are generally sent to Israel for special treatment, as well for bone marrow transplantation.
The fundamental concept of the Dragon Boat Challenge is a race, where up to 20 participants (preferably representing a Company) fill up 1 Dragon boat and paddle, challenging an opponent Dragon Boat over a distance of 250 meters. Each participating team will be able to prove itself at least twice. The wining team will qualify to the next level.
