Description
The amateur theater group "Adonis Idaliou" presents one of the most popular comedies of Aristophanes, ''Lysistrata''. It is translated and adapted by Costas Montis, one of the best contemporary Cypriot poets.
The play has a distinct local flavor, an unmistakable Cypriot character. The language of the adaptation is luscious, poignant and full of brilliant choices. The freshness and vivacity of Aristophanes' text is preserved without resorting to purportedly shrewd or distasteful exaggerations in the use of profanities.
