Description:
The first two musical stories were written by Alan Ridout (1934-1996), English composer and pedagogue. In the first one, Little sad sound for solo double bass and narrator, a little sound is lost in the wild, dark forest and runs about among the trees in despair. The other sounds are searching for it. Will the little sound find its way back to them? The second musical story, Ferdinand the Bull for solo violin and narrator is based on Munro Leaf’s book by the same title which was made into an animation movie by Walt Disney. While the other little bulls run and butt their heads together, Ferdinand prefers to sit quietly under the shade of a cock tree and smell the flowers. It seems as if nothing can disturb his peace until… An adaptation of Aesop’s myth The rabbit and the turtle is the final tale, on which Vicky Stylianou based her musical story for violin, double bass and narrator using melodies from popular classical works. A rabbit and a turtle decide to race each other. Who will win?
If you want to find out what happens in these stories, come to our concerts with double bassist Nicos Ioannou, violinist Nicos Pittas and Alkis Baltas as the narrator! The music and narration (in Greek) will be accompanied by image projections.
