The Limassol Marathon returns on March 16th 2014 in what organizers hope will be the event’s biggest year yet.
Starting on the seafront, the AIMS accredited marathon has a route like no other, running along the Limassol coastline towards the ancient city of Amathus where, competitors change direction, heading back towards the start line to finish in the city’s centre.
The Limassol Marathon is not just a race, it is an experience that champions values such as friendship, solidarity and the power of the human spirit. ‘Limassol is very much a marathon for aspiring athletes. We hope the marathon not only nurtures interest and encourages participation but, also challenges the existing skill-sets of our more experienced runners.
Limassol’s famed hospitality sees competitors return every year from over 40 different nations. Thousands of runners enter the annual event, which includes 10k and 5k races in addition to the full and half marathons, ensuring there is always a lot on offer for serious runners and their friends and family making the trip.
Entry into the marathon and half marathon costs €50. The first athlete in both categories (men / women) will also receive a trophy and monetary awards of €1,500.
Registration for participants and volunteers is now available through the website www.limassolmarathon.com so make sure you’re part of this unique offering in the marathon calendar.
