George Georgiou (clarinet) and Marios Nicolaou (percussion) are this evening performing a recital organised by Cyprus Clarinet Studio (CCS)
Cyprus Clarinet Studio’ was formed in 2009 and aims to promote the clarinet in Cyprus through workshops, seminars, concert etc. So far, it worked with many musicians from Cyprus and abroad such as Erik Mandat (USA), Kinan Asmeh (Syria), Gabor Varga (Hungary), Cristo Barrios (Spain), Julian Farrell (UK) and Yiannis Samprovalakis (Greece).
Nicosia-born Georgiou has studied in London and Athens and performed around the world. Limassol-born Nicolaou studied percussion in Greece and Germany.
Both musicians are artists in residence at the Avaton Music Festival and members of Chronos Contemporary Music Ensemble, amongst other activities.
It is taking place at 8.30pm at ARTE in Nicosia.
